This morning, as I dropped off my little girl at school, I asked her if she had her library book. With a sad little frown, she said 'No'. She was very concerned that all the other kids would be able to pick out a new library book today and that she wouldn't be able to. I quickly told her that I would go home, pick up the book and drop it off at the library before she had her library time. She was still confused, but I told her not to worry about it and to just pick out a new book.
This afternoon when I picked her up, she had the biggest smile on her face. She had picked out a great new book and was eager to get home so that I could read it to her.
Thank goodness I work from home! It is moments like these that leave lasting impressions on our kids. I was her hero today! Because I work from home and don't have a time card to punch, a boss to explain things to, etc., I was able to take care of my daughter and her 'life threatening emergency' this morning. It's moments like these that make me feel like I'm the best mom I can be!
